Ray Forgianni was the City Planner and Director of City Development in the City of Kenosha for 33 years, retiring at the close of 2005. He was instrumental in establishing a Business Development Corporation, Business Improvement Districts, numerous redevelopment efforts including Kenosha HarborPark, Comprehensive Planning, National Register building and district designations, neighborhood revitalization programs, Housing and Commercial development standards, and Public Art Programs. Ray conceptualized a museum campus on Kenosha’s lakeshore at HarborPark, created a European style farmers market, Kenosha HarborMarket, and established Kenosha’s first bike/pedestrian path, the Pike Trail.
Presently, Ray is active in moving Kenosha HarborMarket from a City Committee to a not for profit, creating a community art council, AHA! Kenosha, Art and Humanities Alliance of Kenosha!, and assisting Kenosha United Way in advising not for profits. In his spare time, Ray operates a consulting firm, Street, Piazza, Marche, LLC, which advises on urban design, government entitlement for development, and farmer markets. Ray is also cultivating his own organic garden of heirloom herbs, lettuces and tomatoes.
